The Story Behind Bixa
At Bixa Beauty, our purpose is to empower women to feel beautiful. Through our GMO and paraben-free, vegan-friendly product line, we are committed to funding social change for women. Inspired by a visit to a Zanzibar Spice Farm in 2014 during a social mission trip, our CEO Deida Massey, a twenty-year beauty industry veteran and make-up artist, seized a moment when she was introduced to The Achiote plant (Bixa Orellana). She knew she was onto something special as she began to research the plant and learned that the tree is best known as the source of ANNATTO seeds which produce a natural orange-red tint. Sustainably sourced, designed and manufactured, Bixa is based on a simple idea of creating high-end and affordable cosmetics for women everywhere. Additionally, a Bixa Lip Balm for men and children is available.
