Children’s Privacy

We do not store children’s data. If your child has used the site and you believe their data may be stored, please contact us and we will delete it from our system.

Cookies are small packages of data that we send to your browser when you visit our site. They allow us to optimize your browsing experience. They allow us to store such information as your login and the contents of an order that you have not yet completed. They may also be shared with our advertising partners to provide you with targeted ads. If you direct your browser to reject cookies, your browsing experience will be affected.

How we protect your information

Our payment system is run through Squarespace. This platform properly encrypts your personal information, including credit card details and other personal identifiers. The other information we store is protected using available technology that prevents its misuse by other parties. If you believe your information has been accessed by unauthorized parties through this site, please let us know.

Data retention

We retain your data as necessary for business purposes. Some data may be deleted after the period during which transactions may be contested. Other data may be deleted upon your request.

Links to other websites

We may include links to other sites, particularly social media sites such as Facebook and widely used sites such as Google. These sites may provide additional services to our site and allow you to login in to the site easily. Our privacy policy does not apply to these functionalities because these sites operate independently and have their own privacy policies. While we believe these sites to be generally safe, we do not take responsibility for their use of your data.

Analytics

We may use such services as Google Analytics to gather information about users from our website and social media pages. Please refer to Google’s data usage information to see what might be gathered by this service.

Consumer Rights

Under the laws in certain states and countries, you are allowed to request that your information be handled in specific ways. Some laws allow you to request a copy of your information or request that it be deleted from our records. We are happy to provide you with a copy of your information or to delete it regardless of where you are located.

We may also disclose identifiers to law enforcement and regulatory bodies as required by law.

  • Internet and other network activity We may share your Internet and other network activity with advertising and marketing partners, cloud services, data analytics services, Internet service providers, operating systems partners, and security and maintenance services. We may also disclose internet and other network activity to law enforcement and regulatory bodies as required by law.

  • Inferences We may share inferences drawn from your data with advertising and marketing partners, cloud services, data analytics services, and fraud prevention services. We may also disclose our inferences drawn from your data to law enforcement and regulatory bodies as required by law.

We may use your data to contact you regarding deals and promotions. This is construed as a financial incentive under California law. You may opt out of such initiatives by unsubscribing to our emails or shutting down your account.

Please note that Bixa Beauty does not sell your data nor do we share it with our partners for direct marketing initiatives. However, our sharing of data with advertising partners may be construed as sale of data under California law. If you wish to opt out of any sharing of your data with advertisers, please contact us.

We will make every effort to observe current best practices under California law in terms of your data. If you would like a copy of your data (available twice in a 12 month period per California law), if you would like us to delete your data, or if you would like to explicitly opt out of your data being sold should we sell data in the future, please let us know at info@bixabeauty.com. We will be happy to assist. Under California law, we may not discriminate against you in any way for these choices. Nor would we want to!

EU Privacy Rights

If you are a customer in the EU, your data is protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Under this legislation, you have the right to deletion of your information, to update any information we may have, and to receive copies of your data. Please note that your data will be processed in the United States, as this is where our business is based.

We use your information …

  • To process your order or to communicate with you about your order.

  • When you have given us permission to do so. For example, we may send you email notifications or push notifications if you opt in.

  • To improve our marketing and product creation through use of data analytics.

  • To ensure that data is secure. We may provide certain data to security services that we use. They will not be authorized to share it.

  • In cases where we are legally obligated to share data with law enforcement and regulatory bodies.

Complaints

We will make every effort to resolve any data issues you may have. If you still have unresolved data problems after contacting us and allowing us an opportunity to resolve your complaint, you may take the issue up with the EU here. If you are a Swiss resident you may take up the issue here.

Updates to privacy policy

We will change our privacy policy as new legislation is developed and additional information about best practices for privacy protection emerges. We will not necessarily notify you of these changes, so please check back frequently if you are concerned about these issues. We will, however, make every reasonable effort to inform you of major changes by email.
